Join is for Max’s Birthday Celebration this Thursday !

April 26th – “Radio”

This week’s show will feature “Radio” (Gail Harris) backed by the Frequency band featuring well known bass player, Jeff Littleton. Littleton has performed with the likes of Herbie Hancock and has played for Nancy Wilson, to name a few.  “Radio” and the Frequency band have performed at the Basement previously and are back by popular demand.  She has a voice that can range from Jazz to R&B.  She perfoms songs from Whitney Houston, Anita Baker and even Etta James. If you have not been to one of her shows around town, you are in for a treat.  She has performed at the Long Beach Jazz Festival, the Terrace Theater and other local clubs.  So, come on out and celebrate Max’s birthday.  It will be special.

Happy Hour 8-9 pm for $5 Well Drinks. Food available-not included in cover price.

We’d like to thank everyone for attending the successful premier of “Jazz Nights” – the exciting new live Jazz and Soul event on Thursdays at The Basement Lounge. Headliners included the incomparable Barbara Morrison and Al Williams Jazz Society on December 1 and the house was packed!  On December 8, we welcomed talented vocalist and musician Jeff Robinson for smooth soul ballads that wowed the crowd. “Jazz Nights” will resume on December 22, when we welcome Amin El Blues Collective followed by saxophonist Damon Rentie and The Damon Rentie Quintet on December 29. We hope to see you there!

You’re invited to start your weekends early at The Basement Lounge for a night of sophisticated jazz and soul music, awesome ambiance and a high-quality lounge experience beginning December 1. Max Viltz, an award-winning community leader and owner of Village Treasures African art gallery & boutique in downtown Long Beach, announces her new event promotions venture 2 the Max Promotions!

Every Thursday night beginning December 1, 2 the Max Promotions will present Jazz Nights – an entertaining medley of jazz, classic R&B, sophisticated soul, and live performances from an array of well-known and emerging musicians including Al Williams Jazz Society, Barbara Morrison, Amin El Blues Collective, Jeff Robinson, Andrew Gouche, “Radio” and more.Doors open at 8 p.m. with live performances until 11:30 p.m. and dance music until 1:30 a.m. Jazz Nights is a 21&over event.
